Bio Statement 

Henry LaBarge is a second year Film BFA and World Languages and cultures BA double major from Ballston Spa, NY (about 40 minutes north of Albany). Most of his service is focused on class inequalities in local communities through education. He helped establish a non-profit in his hometown that provided educational STEM programs for kids, and is working for a non-profit in Ithaca called MACRE that provides artistic workshops to the community. He also serves on the student conduct review board committee, assisting Ithaca College administration in making decisions in conduct cases. He uses the skills from his volunteer opportunities to serve as the Business & Communications Assistant for Ithaca College Information Technology, as well as an Audio Visual Technician.

What does it mean to be a MLK Scholar?

To me, being an MLK Scholar means having a lifelong commitment to serving the community, with the goal of bringing social justice to those in need. This means focusing your education and further career on inciting social progress.
