Kamora Mack

Center for Career Exploration and Development Headshot from 2026-2027

Kamora Mack is an MLK Scholar at Ithaca College from Bowie, Maryland. She will also be playing on the volleyball team this fall. Throughout high school, Kamora has been involved in her community through athletics, volunteer work, and advocacy.

Most of Kamora’s involvement in service has come through her family’s church, BE3E Ministries, where she has volunteered and worked to support the surrounding community. She has also volunteered with Families for Families, Comfort Cases, and Martha’s Table. Because of these experiences, Kamora has been able to work directly with different communities and help

organizations focused on supporting families and individuals in need.

Kamora has also participated in advocacy outside of her volunteer work, attending Pride in 2025 & 2026 as well as March for Our Lives and Black Lives Matter demonstrations. These experiences, have shaped the way she thinks about community, and the importance of showing up for causes and people she cares about.

As a setter, Kamora has spent years playing competitive volleyball, an experience that has taught her how to communicate, adapt, and take on responsibility within a team. She is excited to bring both her leadership as an athlete and her commitment to service to Ithaca. As an MLK Scholar, Kamora looks forward to learning from the people around her, and continuing to find ways to make a difference.

Growing up as a Black student in a predominantly white institution has made me especially aware of how important it is to have spaces where you can fully be yourself and feel understood. Being an MLK Scholar means having the opportunity to be part of a community that not only celebrates those different experiences and identities, but also challenges me to to support others and create meaningful change.
