ACTEC Mentor/Cooperating Teacher Policy
All mentor/cooperating teachers must be certified in the discipline and be tenured or hold national certification. Requests for exceptions to this policy must be made in writing to the program coordinator with a rationale. The committee also agrees that, while the requirements listed above are baseline requirements, we all look for teachers in both rural and urban schools who demonstrate a variety of successful teaching skills and strategies and have experience working with a variety of students and grade levels.
Cooperating/Mentor teacher payments for 2023-2024
Thank you for mentoring one of our student teachers! An honorarium of $300 is offered for each placement. Please complete the payment form to be eligible for payment. For Fall 2023 semester placements please submit this form no later than December 15th, 2023. For the Spring 2024 semester placements please submit this form no later than May 14th, 2024. Honorarium payments are issued after the end of each semester. If you have any questions on payments please email teachered@ithaca.edu.
