Examination of the various social, historical, political, and economic factors that affect the position of women in contemporary Britain. Comparisons are drawn with specific issues in other Western countries. Prerequisites: One liberal arts course in any of the following departments: ANTH, CMST, CSCR, ECON, EDUC, GERO, HIST, PHIL, POLT, PSYC, SOCI, WGST.
