Creative Industries (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts in Creative Industries is designed for students who want to combine creativity, business, communication, and leadership. Blending Ithaca College's strengths in the arts, business, communications, media, and the liberal arts, students in the major explore how creative ventures are developed, managed, promoted, and sustained while building practical skills in business, leadership, entrepreneurship, communications, and project management.

The Creative Industries major encourages students to explore connections across fields while tailoring their studies to their individual interests and goals, whether in music, film, digital media, live events, arts administration, entrepreneurship, theatre management, content creation, entertainment marketing, or other creative areas. Through multidisciplinary coursework and experiences, students learn about the creative, cultural, organizational, and economic forces that shape industries while developing the adaptability needed to succeed in a shifting professional landscape.

The major also emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on projects, campus and community engagement, and practical work in creative and professional settings. Through a signature practicum, students gain real-world experience by cultivating projects and professional opportunities that align with their interests, supported by one-on-one faculty mentorship. These experiences help students apply classroom learning, develop professional skills, and gain industry knowledge while preparing for careers that demand strategic thinking, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
