Women in Math

Saturday, February 8, 2020
Ithaca College

The IC Women in Math Day is a day designed for female high school students and their families to engage with interesting mathematical ideas and to learn more about careers that incorporate mathematics. It is open to all interested students in grades 8 - 12 and any parents/guardians that would also like to participate in the day's activities. The day will consist of an interactive session that delves into the applications of origami to interstellar travel, a career panel of women who use mathematics in their work, and a lunch with small group discussions with current Ithaca College math majors.

There is no cost to participate and the lunch is included.

This event is sponsored by MAA Tensor Grant program for Women in Mathematics, the Ithaca College Math Department, and the Ithaca College Alumni Office.
