Colleen Connors, PT, DPT, OCS joined the Ithaca College Department of Physical Therapy in 2026. Dr. Connors earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University at Buffalo. Following graduation, she practiced in outpatient orthopedics at United Health Services in the Binghamton, NY area, where she treated individuals with a wide variety of musculoskeletal and sports-related conditions. She completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency at Cayuga Medical Center and became an ABPTS Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist in 2019.
At Ithaca College, Dr. Connors teaches courses in orthopedic physical therapy within the DPT curriculum. She is currently completing a Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation Science at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Her scholarly interests include motor control and motor learning in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, clinical technology, and physical therapy education. Her doctoral work focuses on the application of motor control principles to lower-quarter rehabilitation.
Dr. Connors is active in the American Physical Therapy Association and APTA New York. She has served as a New York delegate to the APTA House of Delegates and currently serves as Secretary for the Southern Tier District of APTA New York. Outside of physical therapy, she coaches competitive gymnastics and enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family and pets.
