About me:

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving my undergraduate degree from Oberlin College (1981), I moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia to pursue graduate work in exercise physiology. After graduating from Dalhousie University in 1983 with my Master's degree, I returned to New York City where I worked at The McBurney School, teaching health and physical education and coaching high school students. After several years, I returned to school, and graduated in 1989 with my physical therapy degree from Ithaca College.  In May 2006, I graduated with my Ph.D. in Health Related Sciences from Virginia Commonwealth University

I have been teaching full time at Ithaca College since 1991. My primary teaching responsibilites include Musculoskeletal Examination and Evaluation, Spine Examination and Evaluation, Clinical Orthopaedics and Evidence-Based Practice.  My research interests focus on orthopaedic interventions and prognosis, and teaching pedagogy.  I am board certified as an orthopaedic specialist and maintain clinical practice at Cayuga Medical Center.  During the summer, I work as the music director at Camp Blue Ridge, a seven week sleep-away camp in Pennsylvania. Outside of work I enjoy playing the piano and guitar, theatre, photography, sailing and travel.
