Our mission

The past 31 years have been opportunities realized to challenge my students and myself, to innovate and improve, and to create sustaining departments and degrees. I thank the college for the opportunity given in 1995, and I hope I have provided the college and a generation of students with the best I have to offer. My scholarly growth continues as I seek new audiences for my research on fantasy sports journalism and gaming. Most recently, in October 2025, I was the first presenter at the fourth Cornell Sports Research Conference with a presentation titled “Where Fantasy and Gambling are Going: Update on Growth, Demographics and Regulations.” Prediction markets have exploded since. Ithaca College’s institutional plan emphasizes excellence in undergraduate education. My commitment to excellence continues as well. I invite you to join me.
