My research primarily focuses on themes and figures within the American pragmatism tradition, spanning 19th century to the present, as well as some central questions in contemporary philosophy of history and historical theory. Among the pragmatists and figures within the general American philosophical tradition, I have published extensively on Ralph Waldo Emerson, C.S. Peirce, John Dewey, and Richard Rorty among others. My papers have appeared in prestigious international professional journals such as Journal of the History of Ideas, European Journal of Pragmatism and American Philosophy, Journal of the Philosophy of History, History and Theory: Studies in the Philosophy of History, The Journal of Political Philosophy, Metaphilosophy , etc. as well as well-regarded reference collections, such as Blackwell Companion to Rorty and Routledge Companion to Historical Theory . In 2025, Cambridge University Press published an Element in Historical Theory, titled Pragmatism and Historical Representation , which I authored. My monograph on the philosophy of Ralph Waldo Emerson, tentatively titled Emerson’s Pragmatic Idealism: Self-trust and Historical Change, is currently under contract with Routledge.
