International Student Pre-Orientation

All new incoming international students are required to attend the International Student Pre-Orientation which will give students the opportunity to rest and get acclimated to campus life before attending the general orientation and the start of the semester.

All new international students are required to arrive in Ithaca by 9 a.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2020, so they are able to attend the mandatory International Student Pre-Orientation, August 16 - 18, 2020.

The International Student Pre-Orientation is free of charge; parents, family, and friends are welcome to attend. There will be a special session for parents on Sunday afternoon, however, parents and families may join all other sessions that are of interest. We also invite all new Ithaca College students who are coming from overseas to join us - regardless of immigration status. Every year, many students who have U.S. permanent residency or U.S. passports (but are coming to us from abroad), choose to attend the International Student Pre-Orientation and have found the sessions to be helpful.

After the International Student Pre-Orientation, students will participate in Fall Orientation, which will introduce new students to everything needed to know about IC and the Ithaca area. Students will also meet their academic advisers and finalize fall course schedules. For general information about orientation, please see ithaca.edu/orientation or e-mail nstp@ithaca.edu. Our office works closely with the Office of New Student and Transition Programs to ensure that all incoming international undergraduate students benefit from orientation.
