On September 29–30, 2026, Ithaca College welcomes Congress to Campus — a nationally recognized initiative of the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress (FMC) that brings former Senators and Representatives to college campuses for direct conversations with students about public service, civic engagement, and democratic participation.
We're particularly pleased that IC's inaugural Congress to Campus program has been recognized by the FMC as part of its America 250 (A250) initiative, which commemorates the nation’s 250th anniversary through civic learning, public engagement, and reflection on our democratic institutions.
This year, we're honored to host former Representatives Cheri Bustos (D-IL) and Bob Inglis (R-SC) for a visit centered on one of the defining issues of our time: how a divided democracy can still find common ground on climate change.
Across their visit, Bustos and Inglis will meet with classes, join panel discussions, and take part in public conversations exploring what civil dialogue looks like when it's needed most.
