Ongoing with preference given to applications received by March 15.

Preparatory Undergraduate Coursework

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in accounting: No additional preparatory coursework required.

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in a non-accounting field: Must have completed at least 60 credits in liberal arts coursework plus Financial Accounting and Management Accounting, Intermediate Accounting (I and II), Cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, Auditing, and Commercial Law.

Admission Criteria

A. Automatic full admission will be granted if either of the following conditions is met:

  • Undergraduate GPA of 3.2/4.0 in accounting courses and overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 (a GPA of 3.0/4.0 for the last 60 hours would be considered equivalent)
  • The Composite Index Score (CIS) of 1,100 or higher calculated based on the following formula: CIS = 200 (GPA) + GMAT (or GRE equivalent)

B. If either of the above conditions is not met, admission may be granted on a case by case basis. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have:

  • an offer from a "Big Four" or other national accounting firm; or
  • very strong recommendations from Ithaca College faculty from their upper-level undergraduate accounting courses.

Testing

All applicants are required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE). This requirement is waived for students who:

  • have graduated (or will graduate) from an AACSB-accredited business school; or
  • have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher at the end of the fall semester of senior year.

Non-Ithaca College Students: An official electronic transcript from each college or university attended should be sent to admission@ithaca.edu by the registrar using the sending institution’s secure electronic submission system. Transcripts sent from a personal email are not official. If an official electronic transcript cannot be provided, an official paper transcript may be sent to:

Current Ithaca College Students: Your Ithaca College transcript will be provided to the Office of Admission automatically. However, you must request official transcripts from any other collegiate institutions you have attended, regardless of whether you received college credit from those institutions.

Current Ithaca College Students: The application fee is waived.
