Jill Agostino is the deputy editor of special sections at The New York Times, where she has worked for more than 20 years. She has held positions in several different departments, including assistant sports editor, night web editor, assistant travel editor, assistant national editor, and day editor in the Washington Bureau.
In her present role, she assigns, edits, and helps steer story placement of breaking news for both print and web. In addition, she conceives comprehensive story and feature packages with interactive online content that creates an immersive reader experience. She also develops training programs for continuing education for current staff and to introduce new hires to The New York Times' web-based technologies.
Agostino returns to campus frequently to provide workshops for our students in journalism classes and for those working on The Ithacan.
