Augustine Daudu is a Senior Advertising, Public Relations & Marketing Communications student with a minor in Live Event Design and Management. Last year he volunteered at College Initiative Upstate (CIU), an educational organization in Tompkins County designed to help people with barriers to higher education. He designed graphics as well as recorded and edited videos to raise awareness of CIU’s services, which gave him the chance to apply what he learned in the classroom in real life. He was also the director of PR for the African Student Association. Over the summer, he interned the Susan Christopherson Center for Community Planning, where he wrote about places around New York State that have effectively reused or repurposed existing buildings for the public good. This year, he is excited to continue his service with CIU, as well as lead a group of other Park Scholars to assist residents at McGraw House with their technological needs. He will also continue with African Student Association as Director of Communications. Augustine will serve as a commissioner on the Ithaca City Community Police Board. He is excited to serve the community and can’t wait to see what incredible changes will come about.
