Ava Suffredini

Ava Suffredini

Ava works closely with the community on campus as a Peer Success Coach, providing students with social, academic, and personal help. She also works with the community off campus, recently joining other Park Scholars at Finger Lakes ReUse to assist with sorting through items, organizing the space, and helping keep the community waste-free. In addition to volunteering, Ava stepped into the role of Co-Video Editor for The Ithacan in the spring 2025 semester. She is responsible for leading the team of videographers, teaching them all they need to know about video journalism, from filming to interviewing to editing. She had the opportunity to bring her journalistic knowledge into the professional workplace in the summer of 2025 as a social media intern for Detroit PBS. She worked with the Digital Marketing team to craft social media plans for programming, conduct research, analyze data, and edit reels for education events in partnership with public libraries across Detroit. Ava is also involved with the community at Cornell University, working closely with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to edit promotion videos for their new video series Wild Birds Revealed, highlighting different types of birds across North America. This opportunity gives her a lot of room to creatively explore her editing style and process, at the same time learning about the beauty wildlife has to offer. She continues to be involved in the sports world, having interned for USPBL in 2024, working on ICTV’s Sports Final, and producing soccer games for the National Soccer Network back at home.
