Class of 2027

Sophie Glassman is a senior Writing for Film, Television, and Emerging Media major. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Sophie is passionate about the power of storytelling to create connections, community, and social awareness. Sophie continues to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters as a Big for a nine-year-old child. This is her third and final semester meeting weekly with her Little. As for group Service, she volunteers weekly at McGraw House, a local retirement community, to assist the residents with technological needs. Sophie’s creative work spans multiple platforms on campus. She has contributed to several ICTV writers' rooms, helping develop original comedic material for the network. For three seasons in a row, After Hours , a late-night comedy talk show that Sophie contributes to, has received the ICTV Excellence in Writing Award. She is currently serving as one of the Head Writers for South Hill Live , a Saturday Night Live inspired sketch comedy show. Rounding out her final semester at IC, Sophie is the Vice President of Social Engagement for Hillel at Ithaca College and a member of the Hillel Board. Last spring she created the Sisterhood Programming Series for Jewish women on campus to have a space to connect in a low-commitment setting. Sophie also works as a Student Leadership Consultant in the Office of Student Engagement. In this role, she supports students in finding and establishing campus organizations, developing leadership skills, and creating campus connections. Through this position, she teaches Student Leadership Institute sessions to her peers to guide them through leadership within student organizations on campus. As a Park Scholar, Sophie is dedicated to blending her creative pursuits with her commitment to service. She aspires to pursue a career in television while continuing to utilize media as a platform to contribute to her community.
