Kaiden Chandler is a junior Communication Strategy and Design major. As a news product manager and editorial designer, he cares about connecting people to journalism and building ways to fund it. This semester, Kaiden is focused paywall and membership strategy as product intern at The Connecticut Examiner , creating systems to sustainably fund local journalism. Over the summer, he was a product fellow at The Texas Tribune , increasing the reach of nonpartisan reporting on Texas politics and policy. Kaiden is also a staff designer for The Ithacan , the college’s independent student newspaper. As a Park Scholar, Kaiden enjoys working with organizations giving back to the local community. During the fall semester, he is working with a team of Park Scholars volunteering at Finger Lakes ReUse, an Ithaca-based organization that promotes sustainability and community-building. He is also continuing to volunteer at Prunty’s Pantry, the college’s on-campus food bank. A distance runner, Kaiden is a member of Ithaca College’s cross country and track programs. He is also a member of the track and field leadership committee, where he helps to advocate for athlete needs and build a positive team culture. During Kaiden’s next two years at Ithaca College, he aims to focus on giving back to the Ithaca community, employing media skills to grow awareness of important issues and produce a positive impact.
