Litzy S. Garcia is a junior Film major with minors in Advertising, Public Relations, and Marketing Communications, as well as Photography. She dedicates her time to deepening her commitment to service, storytelling, and community connection. Having immigrated from Nicaragua, Litzy adapted to a new language and culture, an experience that continues to shape her mission of connecting with people across diverse backgrounds. Litzy has been involved in various events and services that support the community and promote the visual and performing arts. In the past, she served as a student ambassador for FLEFF and as a video recordist for Dillingham Center fundraising events such as Wheels for Women. She continues to volunteer at the Finger Lakes ReUse Center, supporting community efforts toward sustainability, as well as the Ithaca Children's Garden, where she helps bring joy to children and foster awareness of nature. She also assisted local vendors and helped ensure operations ran smoothly during the Apple Harvest Festival. Alongside William Ressler, Litzy co-organized an event dedicated to thanking and recognizing the hard work of the Park School janitorial staff. She also plans to volunteer with ACEing Autism, an experience particularly meaningful to her. Professionally, Litzy worked as a documentary editing intern under filmmaker T. Stanton on multiple films, including the Panama documentary Gente de Mar, the Drumstock Music & Art Festival, and Doyle Sails. She has also worked with OCIO Studio, a marketing company in her hometown of Union, NJ, and spent a summer as a bus driver assistant for children with special needs. Litzy is a first-generation student, a member of the Oracle and Alpha Alpha Alpha Honor Societies, and has been on the Dean’s List since Fall 2024.
