Isabella Edghill is a sophomore journalism and sociology double major from Louisville, Kentucky. She is returning for a second semester as assistant news editor at The Ithacan and enjoys covering education and campus affairs. Last spring she was awarded the Rookie of the Year award for her work with The Ithacan as a first-year student. Isabella is passionate about community-centered storytelling and exploring journalism as a platform for advocacy. In her free time, Isabella enjoys reading, playing her violin in the IC Campus Orchestra and tap dancing with IC Tap Co. She does community service with other Park Scholars at the Finger Lakes ReUse Center and appreciates learning about the organization's sustainability initiatives. She also volunteers at the Community School for Music and Art in downtown Ithaca, supporting the non-profit’s administrative operations. Over the summer, Isabella worked as a research fellow at The Kentucky Student Voice Team, working on a youth-led study about the landscape of student journalism programs in high schools across Kentucky’s 171 public school districts. Isabella is grateful for the Park Scholarship and all the opportunities the Park School provides.
