Kartiki Sarangdhar

Kartiki is a Film student from Northborough, Massachusetts, with a minor in Business Administration. During her high school years, Kartiki played the oboe in the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra and her high school’s Wind Ensemble, contributing further to the musical community through being part of Tri-M Music Honor Society and to the school in general as part of multiple other extracurriculars. In addition to work done via her high school, Kartiki volunteered in her town with the Northboro Junior Woman’s Club. In this, she furthered her filmmaking skills by creating a documentary of the group’s 50th anniversary, captured photo and video at yearly Wreaths Across America ceremonies, and shared her culture’s Diwali traditions, foods, and stories to children at the Northborough Public Library. On a greater scale, Kartiki worked with Humankind Casting to improve their social media presence and to build Beauty Has No Limits , a series of workshops for individuals with disabilities to build their professional modeling skills and portfolio. In addition, she and the program’s creator worked to develop a mock commercial with the theme An Athlete is An Athlete , no matter what. This semester, Kartiki is looking forward to contributing to the Ithacan Photo team, being an Assistant Producer on ICTV’s Newswatch and PA on Fake Out , and learning how to DJ on WICB. After working with the other Park Scholars at the first group service at Finger Lakes Reuse, Kartiki has continued going weekly to sort, organize, and process donations from the community.
