Sophie Hudes is the Director of Lifestyle Engagement at Sycamore Living in East Hanover, New Jersey. She graduated in 2019 with an Aging Studies major and minors in both Health Policy Management and Counseling.
She said classes in the Aging Studies program gave her hands-on experiences with the older adult population and the program validated her love for activities. Classes in Long-Term Care, Health Policy and End of Life Issues helped in both her first job and her current position. Learning about memory loss and aging has helped her work more effectively with dementia patients. The fieldwork and internships she completed as a student are directly applicable to her work in activities today.
