The Physics & Astronomy Seligmann Award

In honor of Carol & Peter Seligmann, this award is presented annually in recognition of outstanding academic achievements in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Ithaca College. The awardee's excellent grades, their contributions in research with their professors, and their active engagement in department events are all greatly appreciated. This award comes with the sincere appreciation and admiration of their hard work and success.

Lillian Schick '28

Lillian Schick '28, recipient of the 2026 Seligmann Award.

Lillian Schick is a double major in Applied Physics and Exercise Science with a minor in Mathematics. She is currently conducting research with Professor Colleen Countryman on leveraging Generative AI as a tool for simulation development with emphasis on the best practices in prompting and interface design. Starting in Fall 2026, she will be a Learning Assistant for Physics 101 as well as a Student Ambassador in Exercise Science and Athletic Training. In addition to being an excellent student, she is a dedicated athlete on the Ithaca College Diving Team. She has also spent many years in gymnastics.
