Scholarship and Creative Projects (SCP) Awards

Overview

Scholarship and Creative Projects (SCP) Awards provide reassigned time equivalent to a one-course reduction for faculty on MYRN appointments to conduct research and/or creative projects during the academic year.

Eligibility

SCP Awards are available to full-time, continuing faculty members on MYRN appointments with six or more years of service in this role at the College. Priority will be given to faculty who have not received reassigned time in the last three years.

Proposal Process

Proposals should include the following:

A project description that clearly explains what project or activity is being undertaken, the goals and timeline for outcomes, the effect the project will have on your work in the profession, and its relationship to work you have done in the past.

Department Chair and Dean approval are solicited through the application form. Chairs and Deans are responsible for determining the administrative feasibility of granting reassigned time equivalent to a one-course reduction and for verifying teaching load.

Final reports procedures and sharing with the campus community

Recipients must submit a report to provost@ithaca.edu by the end of the semester following the semester in which the reassigned time is applied summarizing the results, and they will be invited to share information on their project at campus gatherings celebrating faculty creativity, innovation, and inquiry.

Submit a proposal

Submit proposals via this form. Proposals are due on November 1st for projects that would bear reassigned time in the subsequent academic year. Please give your chair and dean at least two weeks before the deadline to review your project (due to chair and dean by October 15th).
