Introduction

The Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management invites you to apply for our Fall 2023 Internship Program! This is an exciting opportunity to learn from and work alongside our team, supporting our mission to ensure a safe community for all to live, learn and work through our prevention education efforts.

Responsibilities

As a Public Safety Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Assistant Director of the Clery Act and Prevention Education in a unique experiential learning environment, providing educational programs to the campus community. The internship will include educating students, faculty, and staff on topics such as emergency preparedness, prosocial bystander intervention, how to make a report to the Office of Public Safety, participating in the Prevention Education Network, creating promotional materials for upcoming events such as the IC Runs Purple 5k for Domestic Violence Awareness Month and creating proposals for important future work. This role will also include administrative responsibilities.

This position will collaborate with the Title IX Intern and engage in bi-weekly supervision with the Assistant Director of the Clery Act and Prevention Education and with the Director of Title IX Compliance.

Outside of the opportunities we offer to you, we will ask you to identify skills that you would like to develop while in this role as well.
