Spring 2026 Traffic Safety Education Week
As part of our ongoing commitment to prevention education and safety awareness, the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management will host Traffic Safety Education Week from March 30 through April 1. Public Safety will conduct traffic stops to promote awareness and responsible driving, specifically as it relates to distracted driving, stop sign violations, and speeding on campus. If you receive a campus summons related to traffic safety during this time, under most circumstances, you will have the opportunity to attend the Drive Safe, Arrive Safe SLI to reduce the campus summons to a warning.
Our key goals for Traffic Safety Education Week include:
- Promoting safe driving
- Enhancing the safety of drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists
- Raising awareness of traffic laws and campus safety
- Reducing traffic accidents
- Providing educational information about the importance of traffic safety
- Fostering positive engagement between Public Safety and the community to create a safer campus
