After an interview with the executive board, successful candidates will be hired as a probationary member and must complete the basic training. This phase consists primarily of classroom instruction plus an observational patrol, which encompasses a total of approximately 12 hours of training. Promotional opportunities exist thereafter to Junior member, Senior member and Executive Board member.
All SASP members must be enrolled as full or part-time students at Ithaca College and must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.6. All employees must also be in good standing with Student Financial Services and have a clean history with the Office of Judicial Affairs.
