Keeping Campus Safe

Public Safety members are a well-trained team inclusive of uniformed campus police officers and state-certified security officers.

Public Safety is responsible for the safety of the campus and the community, as well as fostering crime awareness, prevention, and education.

In addition to Patrol and Security Services, the office is comprised of Parking Services, Environmental Health & Safety, Clery Act Compliance, Emergency Management, and Student Auxiliary Safety Patrol (SASP). Areas of responsibility include:

  • Emergency Response

  • Fire Safety

  • Crime Prevention Programming & Community Engagement

  • Publication of Daily Crime and Fire Log

  • Publication and dissemination of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

  • Special Event Staffing

  • Providing Safety Escorts

  • Repository for Lost and Found

  • Administering Vehicle Assistance, and

  • Managing Vehicular and Traffic Control on Campus.
