Why Register Your Bike?

Bicycle registration is recommended by the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management. Registration serves several purposes:

  • It's a deterrent to crime.
  • It can aid in the identification of lost or stolen bicycles.
  • It enables the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management to plan more accurately for improved bicycle parking and bicycle safety around the Ithaca College campus.

How to Register a Bike

Bicycle registration at IC is cost-free and easy.

Fill out the Bicycle Registration Form and click Submit. Once we receive your information, your registration sticker will be mailed to your campus/local address or you may pick it up at the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management during normal business hours Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Affix the registration sticker to the bike's frame on the front of the upright frame bar supporting the seat.

The registration lasts for five years and stickers are non-transferable. A new bicycle requires new registration. The purchase of an already registered bike also requires re-registration under the new owner's name.
