STI Testing & Prevention

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are common, especially in the college-age population—and many don’t cause symptoms. Routine testing is a normal, healthy part of being sexually active.

We offer:

  • Confidential STI testing , including chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis
  • Testing via urine, blood, or swabs , depending on exposure and anatomy
  • Expedited treatment for you and your partner(s) when needed
  • Free condoms and other barrier methods
  • HPV vaccination (Gardasil 9) to prevent strains that cause cancer and genital warts
  • PrEP for HIV prevention in high-risk individuals
STI Testing Recommendations for Students (Ages 18-24)

The CDC recommends:

  • Annual chlamydia and gonorrhea testing for sexually active women, trans men with a cervix, and nonbinary people assigned female at birth
  • More frequent testing for individuals with new or multiple partners, or those not using condoms consistently
  • At least one lifetime HIV test , with repeat testing based on risk factors
  • Regular testing for sexually active men who have sex with men (MSM), including HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea every 3–6 months depending on risk
  • Testing any time you have a new partner or experience symptoms like discharge, pain, or sores
