The Medicar is a free transportation service provided by Cayuga Health at Ithaca College to help students get to and from off-campus medical appointments within Tompkins County. This service is free of charge available to ensure students can access necessary healthcare even if they do not have a car or reliable transportation.
Medicar Service: Transportation for Off-Campus Medical Care
Service Availability
Medicar is only offered during the traditional academic calendar. It is not offered during break periods: Spring Break, Thanksgiving and Winter Break.

Monday-Saturday during limited daytime hours
Examples of Eligible Destinations
Medicar is only to be used as a transportation method for healthcare-related matters. Examples of eligible destinations include:
- Physical therapy appointments
- Pharmacies to pick up prescriptions
- Urgent care centers
- Specialist or primary care offices
- Off-campus counseling or mental health appointments
Medicar cannot be used for non-healthcare related personal errands such as grocery and/or retail shopping.
