Information for High School Guidance Counselors

Ithaca College, located in beautiful Ithaca, NY, welcomes high school students for a pre-college residential experience for summer 2024!  

Our residential, on-campus experiences are designed for high school students to open their minds, unleash their creativity, and connect with other high school students who share their passion. This is an incredible opportunity for students to experience a glimpse of college life in Ithaca, NY, under the guidance of supportive and talented faculty during the summer.

Programs for College Credit

We are offering three tracks where students can experience residential campus living and earn three college credits:  

Summer College
July 15 - August 02, 2024   

Students earn college credits while experiencing the kind of inventive courses they'll take as an undergraduate. Courses being offered in 2024 include Wildlife Tracking and Nature Observation, Foundations of Health, Human Performance, and Wellness, Rock Band for BeginnersIntroductory Astronomy: Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe (part of our Science, Technology, Engineering, Math track), and Imaginative Writing (an offering in our Ithaca Young Writers Institute track).  Applicants are asked to choose their top three choices for classes when applying.

Ithaca Young Writers Institute  
July 15 - August 02, 2024

Students can share their stories by immersing themselves in a creative and professional class, Imaginative Writing. Taught by a distinguished faculty member of the College’s Department of Writing, the curriculum is designed to give aspiring young writers an immersive conference experience in an authentic college atmosphere. 

Summer Theatre Conservatory  
July 15 - August 02, 2024

Students can get training, including preparation for the college interview/audition process, at one of the top-ten theatre arts programs in the country while also earning college credit.
