Dennis Charsky, Professor and Minor Coordinator
This minor is for students who want to use the power of communication to help create social change. Students in the minor gain vital storytelling and campaign-building skills through a series of required strategic communication courses. They supplement these courses with classes in the humanities and social sciences that provide the necessary context for understanding the systems behind the social issues they want to address. The minor culminates with a capstone lab course in which students complete a comprehensive social impact campaign
Students interested in working in non-profit organizations, humanitarian institutes, community agencies, and corporate social responsibility positions are strongly encouraged to apply. Students accepted into the minor are strongly encouraged to complete an academic plan with their minor adviser.
