Scholarships Available

The following scholarships are available to students majoring in Occupational Therapy. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need (unless noted otherwise).

To be considered for any scholarship, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Carole White Dennis Study Abroad Scholarship

Awarded to occupational science/occupational therapy majors with demonstrated financial need who will be participating in an IC sponsored study abroad experience. This scholarship is awarded through the office of Donor Relations in consultation with the Office of International Programs and Student Financial Services.  No application necessary.

Who can apply: Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy Majors 

Charles A. Frueauff Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to outstanding undergraduate students in the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or in programs in community health education, therapeutic recreation, and health policy studies.

Who can apply: Outstanding rising sophomore, junior or senior students

Arkell Hall Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to undergraduate students showing outstanding academic ability in the Departments of Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology or in programs in community health education, therapeutic recreation, and health policy studies.

Who can apply: Outstanding rising sophomore, junior, or senior students

Susan Brokaw Kimmons Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a senior in occupational therapy for the fifth year of study. The student must be in good academic standing and have demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to a student with an interest in hand therapy.

Tioga County Home Bureau Scholarship

Awarded to a deserving student who is a resident of New York State majoring in therapeutic recreation or occupational therapy. Preference is given to therapeutic recreation majors. Financial need is not required.

Who can apply: Any rising sophomore, junior or senior Occupational Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation student who is a resident of New York State

National Rehabilitation Medical Network Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time graduate student in the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Eligible students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 and demonstrate outstanding clinical performance. Financial need is not a requirement.

The National Rehabilitation Medical Network specializes in treating persons with physical disabilities caused by spinal cord and head injuries, stroke, arthritis, amputation, multiple sclerosis, post-polio syndrome, and other neurological and orthopedic conditions.

It has grown from a single hospital to The NRH Medical Rehabilitation Network, providing inpatient and outpatient care and day treatment programs. The network provides nearly 200,000 ambulatory visits annually in addition to the hospital's more than 1,700 inpatient admissions. Physicians nationwide consistently rank NRH among “America’s Best Hospitals,” as reported by U.S. News & World Report.

Who can apply: Graduate students majoring in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
