The following scholarships are available to students in any major in the School of Health Sciences & Human Performance. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need (unless noted otherwise).

To be considered for any scholarship, you must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Philip James Butterfield Scholarship

Awarded to juniors or seniors in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who exhibit outstanding performance and citizenship. Preference is given to students who plan to pursue teaching careers. Established in honor of longtime professor and head football coach Jim Butterfield.

Who can apply: Rising juniors and seniors

Robert J. Caliel '54 Scholarship

Awarded to a student entering the senior year in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. Eligible students must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and be recommended to the dean by their department chair. Preference is given first to students residing in Tompkins County, then to those from surrounding counties, and finally to other New York State residents.

Who can apply: Any HSHP student entering senior year

Robert L. Driscoll Scholarship

Awarded to a junior in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who has a commitment to academic excellence, a grade point average of at least 3.0, and demonstrated financial need. Preference is given to students from rural areas of New York State.

Who can apply: Rising juniors

Phi Delta Pi Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a deserving female student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who demonstrates academic excellence, exhibits leadership on campus and in community activities, and shows financial need.

Who can apply: Any female rising sophomore, junior or senior HSHP major

Charles F. Saxton '51 Scholarship

Awarded to a junior in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who shows outstanding academic performance.

Who can apply: Any HSHP major who is a rising junior

Chester S. Southwick Scholarship

Awarded to a student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. Preference is given to physical education majors who plan to pursue careers in teaching. Established in memory of Chester S. Southwick by his son.

Who can apply: Any rising sophomore, junior or senior HSHP major

Gutenstein/Silvershein Family Endowed Scholarship for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance

Awarded to an outstanding student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance who has demonstrated financial need.

Who can apply: Any rising sophomore, junior or senior HSHP major with financial need
