Writing Major Margaret McKinnis ('20) Named a Phi Kappa Phi Presidential Scholar

Writing major Margaret McKinnis (’20) has been named one of four Presidential Scholars by the Ithaca College chapter of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. The Presidential Scholar award program was established to honor outstanding student academic performance combined with exceptional depth and breadth of interest and outstanding community service.

Margaret McKinnis is a senior Writing major with minors in Honors and Linguistics. She serves as a tutor in the Writing Center and last year she was the student director of the New Voices Literary Festival. She has interned for local nonprofit organizations such as Community Arts Partnership and The Sophie Fund and was chosen for Ithaca College’s Summer Scholars Program in 2018.

The Phi Kappa Phi Fall Award and Induction Ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Emerson C, Campus Center.
