Writing Internships

The Internship Program in Writing & Publishing helps place our writing majors and minors at dozens of writing-related internships in Ithaca (listed here) and throughout the United States (listed here).

Ithaca College prepares students for personal and professional success through hands-on experience with internships, research, and study abroad. Our integrative curriculum builds bridges across disciplines and uniquely blends liberal arts and professional study.

Internship Scholarship

ProfVal, LLC funds annual summer tuition scholarships for one writing student each summer at a nonprofit organization. A purpose-driven company, ProfVal provides expert opinion letters and professional or business plans to support foreign professionals seeking to legally work within the U.S. 

In summer 2023, the award went to junior Leah J. McLean, a Writing major with minors in Biology and Integrated Marketing Communications. Leah interned at Cornell University's Lab of Ornithology in Ithaca, New York.
