Components of Your Audition Day

Your audition day complete will consist of a few components depending on the major(s) to which you apply. Here's what you can expect:

During your audition, you should expect to meet and play for a faculty member (or two!) from your area. A faculty member from a similar instrument area may also be in the room to hear your audition.

Applicants to specific degree programs will participate in an interview with faculty members from that particular area.

  • Composition (B.M.): Meet with our Composition faculty to discuss your compositional process, as well as the scores that you submit with your application materials. Approximately 15 minutes.
  • Sound Recording Technology (B.M.): Meet with members of the SRT faculty, practice critical listening skills, and discuss your background in audio engineering thus far. Approximately 20 minutes.
