On-campus Accommodations

On-campus accommodations are available for seniors who are currently remote and would like to participate in one or more of the Commencement events: Senior Splash, the Graduate Hooding Ceremony, and/or the Commencement Celebration.  Housing is only available to students participating in one of these events.  There is no on-campus housing option for families this year.  Requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.  There is no charge for the room.

Seniors will be housed in empty rooms in the Towers and Quads.  Each student will be assigned to their own room.  Bedding (sheets, pillow, and blanket) and towels are provided.  The Towers are equipped with all-gender, single-user bathrooms.  The Quads are equipped with community bathrooms.  Separate male and female bathrooms are designated on the wings of each floor.

COVID-19 Vaccination & Pre-Travel COVID-19 Testing

We strongly recommend that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 disease prior to returning to Ithaca, and that a copy of your vaccination card is on file with Hammond Health Center (email to healthcenter@ithaca.edu). This will enable you, and your friends around you, to participate more safely in Senior Week events and the Hooding or Commencement ceremonies.  Regardless of your vaccination status, you must obtain a negative PCR diagnostic test within 72 hours prior to traveling to Ithaca, at your own individual cost, and submit results to healthcenter@ithaca.edu. If you tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus within the last 90 days you are exempt from testing. Please submit proof of a positive test and/or public health orders releasing you from isolation to healthcenter@ithaca.edu. You may not travel to Ithaca if you test positive, which is possible even if vaccinated; if you are in public health-ordered isolation or quarantine; or if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.

Arriving on Campus and Check-in

On Tuesday, May 4, students who had requested housing on-campus received an email confirming the event(s) they had registered to attend and their check-in date for housing. Check-in will be run from the Wrap Around Care Office on the second floor of Emerson Hall from 10am-4pm. You will need your IC ID at check-in and to access your room.

  • Students participating in Senior Splash must check-in on Tuesday, May 18 prior to 4:00PM.
  • Students participating in Graduate Hooding Ceremony must check-in on Wednesday, May 19 prior to 4:00PM.
  • Students participating in only the Commencement Ceremony must check-in on Thursday, May 20

Arriving on Campus

  1. When you arrive on campus, follow signs to Emerson Hall. Use the entrance at the top of the ramp.  Only students will be permitted in at Emerson Hall for check-in.

  2. At Emerson, you will collect your room key and a saliva self-collection testing kit if unvaccinated (including those not yet fully immunized). You will provide your saliva sample during the check-in process. To avoid unnecessary delays in your arrival testing process and ensure you can provide a sample that the laboratory can process, please refrain from all of the activities listed below within 30-minutes of your arrival: no Smoking, no Eating, no Drinking, and no Chewing Gum.

  3. If you are unvaccinated, you will also receive a second saliva self-collection testing kit that must be completed and dropped off in a blue collection bin on Friday, May 21 before 11:30am. The blue collection bins are located near the front desk in the Athletics & Events Center or near the Information Desk in Campus Center. Please note that if you drop your sample off after 11:30 am on Friday, we cannot guarantee that you will have testing results in time to participate in the Commencement ceremony.

  4. After testing, you may proceed to your room.

If your travel is delayed and/or you arrive after move-in has closed, please call the Wrap Around Care Manager at 607-227-0404 (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM). Additional instructions will be provided to you when you arrive.

IC Health Badge

Upon receipt of your negative PCR test, Hammond Health Center will enable your IC Health Badge so that you can complete the Daily Health Screening every day to keep your Badge “green”. You must complete the Daily Health Screening even if vaccinated. Unvaccinated students (including those not yet fully immunized) will also need to complete required surveillance testing once here, described above, to keep your badge green. There is no cost to you for this testing once here.

Questions/Check Out

All students must check out by noon on Monday, May 24, 2021.
