Rukia Abed is a Psychology major and Journalism minor at Ithaca College who is passionate about mental health awareness, storytelling, and community building. She serves as the Social Media Director for Voices of Equity and the Event Coordinator Advisor for the Muslim Student Association, where she helps create inclusive spaces for students to connect and express themself. Rukia is also the co-founder of the Daughters of Deen, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting and empowering young Muslim girls through mentorship, sisterhood, and self-growth.
As a first-gen college student, Rukia takes pride in using her voice to inspire others to embrace their identity and speak their truth. Outside of campus involvement, she loves writing, poetry, and fashion. You can reach her @rabed@ithaca.edu
