Can I use this class from another school for my ICC?

Does this class count for...?

Transfer Students and the ICC

Students who transfer to IC come in with credits and sometimes with an associate's degree. Each situation is unique. The most common question for transfer students is: Why didn't my X class satisfy the Y requirement?  The answer may be as simple as the class not having a direct equivalent at IC.

To have a course reviewed for ICC designation, you just need to complete the ICC Study Away/Transfer Credit Evaluation request form. A syllabus from the course is a required part of the submission.

If you are and IC transfer student and are missing ICC requirements after your transfer credits are posted and have any questions about your transfer classes and ICC requirements, we encourage you to schedule an appointment or drop-in to discuss your credits and options.

Will or did you complete courses at another college?  To have a course reviewed for ICC designation, you just need to complete the ICC Study Away/Transfer Credit Evaluation request form. A syllabus from the course is a required part of the submission.

Non-transfer students are welcome to use transfer credits to satisfy some elements of the ICC including Academic Writing, Diversity, Quantitative Literacy and Writing Intensive. However, Themes & Perspectives courses must be taken at or through Ithaca College or through an approved study abroad program.

Be sure to review specific guidelines regarding use of transfer credit under Resources for Students.
