Title

Welcome to the Department of Exercise Science and Athletic Training

Prepare yourself for a career in human performance and wellness.

Prepare yourself with the knowledge and practical skills to address growing societal concerns about and interest in fitness, wellness, sport, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.

Our Exercise Science major provides an opportunity for students to incorporate theory with practical application of exercise science principles. You will be able to customize your exercise science degree to your interests, by selecting one of four pathways/concentrations (clinical exercise and wellness, medical sciences, sport sciences, or strength and conditioning). Our undergraduate students are prepared for a wide range of opportunities once they graduate, whether pursuing graduate-level studies or entering the workforce.

Our accelerated five-year dual degree Exercise Science- Pre-Athletic Training/Athletic Training (MS) prepares and enables you to take the national Board of Certification Exam (BOC), which certifies an athletic trainer (ATC) to practice in many professional settings. Our unique, medically based and integrated curriculum incorporates progressive and integrated academic coursework with supervised and deliberate clinical experiences. It ensures you are capable for clinical practice and entry into professional and postgraduate programs of study in related health care fields.

At the graduate level, we offer a flexible Master's in Exercise & Sport Science to provide you with an opportunity to deepen your theoretical understanding by customizing your degree specific to your desired field of focus.  Our robust curriculum emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and practical application, preparing students that seek a career or doctoral program right out of graduation.
