“What I continue to love (…) is the freedom. I still have that. Despite all the programming, despite all the added institutional heaviness, I really feel very free. For example, right now, I'm reading a lot of things about mental illness because on [the radio station] France Inter, Nicolas Demorand said he was bipolar and that’s something I’ve been exploring since COVID, with my students and also in my work with staff. So, for example, I know that I have the freedom to bring someone in [as a guest speaker]. I know that I can choose materials (…) and plan lessons around this topic with my students. This freedom, I think that's what's most precious to me because with this freedom there is also creativity.”
