Ithaca College competes in NCAA Division III as a member of the Liberty League along with Bard College, Clarkson University, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, University of Rochester, Rochester Institute of Technology, Skidmore College, St. Lawrence University, Union College and Vassar College.
Ithaca has 28 varsity intercollegiate athletic programs, which have captured 15 team national championships in the school’s history, and 37 student-athletes have won 60 individual national championships.
Outside of conference opposition, Ithaca College holds a strong and storied rivalry with the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Cortland. Other nonconference regional rivals and peer institutions Ithaca College recruits and competes against include Alfred University, Hamilton College, Nazareth College, St. John Fisher College, and SUNY Colleges at Brockport, Buffalo, Geneseo, Oneonta and Oswego.
