Prioritizing Sustainability
Van Buskirk Creek in Newfield runs through the Ithaca College Natural Lands.
The Ithaca College Natural Lands (ICNL), a conservation reserve of more than 560 acres.
IC’s sustainable actions include the following:
Thanks to grants from the New York State Electric and Gas Make-Ready program and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Charge Ready 2.0 program, IC’s campus now provides 36 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
Prospective buyers of EVs cite lack of reliable charging availability as the top barrier for purchasing fully electric vehicles. IC’s new complement, including 30 level-2 units and two dual-port direct-current fast chargers, increases the town of Ithaca’s number of public charging stations substantially.
Whether community members are attending concerts, performances, sporting events, or just looking for a place to charge, IC provides convenient, eco-friendly support for their use.
IC is a leader in campus sustainability. Our commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050 can be found on our Sustainability site.
