Guide to Ithaca - "Your Guide to Everything Ithaca on the Web" - A wonderful web page developed by the Alumni Association of Ithaca College. This site has numerous links to information about the College and the Ithaca community.

Ithacaevents.com - A web site dedicated to events happening in the Ithaca area. You can search for types of event, specific dates, and venues. A very useful tool for finding performing arts events in Ithaca.

SAXOPHONE MERCHANDISE

Hickey's Music Center - Located in Ithaca, New York, this is a excellent source for saxophone music, recordings, instruments, and accessories. Hickey's also owns Lyceum Music Press.

Dorn Publications - Includes Open Loop recording, and past issues of The Saxophone Journal, as well as music and accessories for purchase.

Conn-Selmer - The web site for The Conn-Selmer Company, manufacturers and importers of high quality saxophones. Included on this site is information about their products, artist/clinicians, materials for the music educator, and even a Saxophone Chat site.

Selmer Paris - This is the site of the Selmer Company in France. There is much information about their line of musical instruments and other interesting items.

Vandoren/DANSR - This is the web site for the Vandoren/DANSR Company, the US distributor of Vandoren reeds, mouthpieces, ligatures, and accessories for the saxophone and clarinet. The main headquarters for Vandoren is in Paris, France. There are numerous items of interest about their products and a wonderful presentation on the growing and manufacturing of reeds on the Paris website (Vandoren Paris).

The Woodwind and Brasswind- Located in South Bend (IN), New York, and Paris, this is probably the biggest musical instrument supply house in the world.

Classic Saxophone On-Line - An on-line service for purchasing saxophones, recordings, and music. Also included are forums, chat lines, and historical information.

Arizona University Recordings - Arizona University Recordings has produced a series entitled America's Millennium Tribute to Adolphe Sax! This collection consists of seven volumes, with each CD offering a selection of premier saxophone pieces.

SAXOPHONE HISTORY

Saxophone History Timeline - This link takes you to the Pedagogy page of the website for saxophonist Jeff Heisler. There are many other interesting links listed, including the Saxophone History Timeline. This free PDF is an excellent, concise history of the saxophone. It was originally created in the 1980s by Steven Mauk and then expanded by the faculty and students at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Others have added to it over the years.

Vintage Saxophone Photos - This site contains many fine photos of vintage saxophones.

Saxophone Ads - A wonderful collection of old advertisements for a variety of saxophone brands and models.

SaxAMe - A unique site for (The Saxophone in America and Europe) is the official site representing the liaison between an international editorial board and the Association of the European Center for Saxophone (E.C.S.) in Bordeaux, France. Posted on the site are materials of specific and general interest to the study of saxophone as well as scholarly articles written expressly for SaxAmE.

Conn Saxophone Page - A website containing much information about Conn saxophones. This site includes history, serial numbers and photos.

Marcel Mule - This site, located at Dorn Publications, is an excellent resource for information about the famous French saxophonist, Marcel Mule (1901-2001).

Tenor Saxophone Index - The first ever comprehensive online repertoire database for original tenor saxophone music. Included are a repertoire database and a listening hub, where you can hear examples of recorded works for the tenor.

Saxophone Acoustics - This is a site from the University of South Wales (Sydney, Australia) that explains the acoustical properties of the saxophone.

Saxophone Serial Numbers - Serial numbers and accompanying years for many makes and models of saxophones.

Classical Saxophonists - A site which links viewers to the web sites of many international classical saxophonists.

The International Saxophone Homepage - A website maintained by saxophonist Jason DuMars, which has many interesting links.

Composers and Works - Taken from the 12th World Saxophone Congress program in Montreal in July 2000. An excellent place to find biographies for composers and performers, as well as information about specific works.

GENERAL SITES

Music Resources on the World Wide Web - This is an all-inclusive, music web site sponsored by Yale University Music Library.  There is an exhaustive listing of links having to do with music, including sheet music and score sources, music organizations, various musical styles (Blues, Jazz, Film Music), festivals and prizes, listings of music schools, and world music links. Almost an endless list of possibilities.

Web U.S. Univesities, by State - A site which lists most colleges and universities in the the US by state. Very useful for finding the homepage for many institutions.

Google - Type in the word "saxophone" into this search engine and enjoy the bounty of links.

eBay - The famous online bidding site contains a multitude of items dealing with the saxophone. Included are instruments for sale (new and vintage), music, accessories, books, and advertisement. It's fun to explore, even if you don't want to buy!
