2025 AAHA Faculty Exhibition of Creative Research

The Handwerker Gallery at Ithaca College is pleased to present the AAHA Faculty Exhibition of Creative Research, on view from January 23 through March 5, 2025. 

An opening reception will welcome the campus and community on Thursday, January 23, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. This exhibition showcases the creative and scholarly work of faculty from the Art, Art History, and Architecture departments. Featuring painting, drawing, sculpture, and video, the exhibition also includes a critical reading space stocked with recent faculty publications.

The exhibition presents work by Ibrahim Alazza, Patti Capaldi, Dara Engler, Bill Hastings, Valeria Herrera, Kaleb Hunkele, Pat Hunsinger, Julianne Hunter, Neil Infalvi, Jennifer Jolly, Jill Lavetsky, Amber Lia-Kloppel, Risham Majeed, Emily Pellicano, David Salomon, Paulina Velázquez Solís, Zohreh Soltani, Jessica Warner, and Paul Wilson.

Creative research in the arts uniquely blends experimentation with critical thinking. It is an inquiry that looks both inward and outward, presenting new ideas and perspectives through individual works. This exhibition highlights the writing and studio practices of Ithaca College’s Art, Art History, and Architecture faculty side by side, encouraging dialogue within and beyond artistic and academic fields. Through this showcase, faculty share their passions and concerns, inspiring creativity and discussion among viewers and between one another extending the exhibition’s impact beyond its physical and temporal boundaries.

2/20 Short Talks in the Gallery by AAHA Faculty 5 - 6 p.m. Briskly move through the exhibition via guided short talks by many participating faculty in a rapid series of 3-6min. explainers, followed by a group Q&A at the end.
