The college offers many ways to support academic success, personal wellbeing and future professional goals. Before submitting your application to take a leave of absence or withdraw permanently please consider the following supports and resources provided below or meeting with a trusted faculty member/staff or staff in the Academic Advising Center.

Mental Health Supports

Social Concerns/Feelings of Isolation

  • The Ambassador Program connects trained students with first-year and transfer students to learn more about resources, college life, and how to balance academic success with mental health. 

Community Connection at IC

  • The LGBT Center actively fosters the academic success and personal growth of LGBT+ students

  • The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life invites students to find belonging in one of many student groups and campus partners, make meaning out of the human experience, and join with people of religious, spiritual, or secular worldviews

  • The ICare Team works with students who are struggling in connecting them to helpful resources on and off campus while offering short-term emotional support

  • The Center for IDEAS is focused on supporting students in their journey to better connect their lived experiences to larger ideals of Inclusion Diversity Equity and Social Change (IDEAS).

Financial Concerns

  • The Student Employment Office is a resource for students who are looking to obtain employment on campus as well as for students who currently hold positions on campus

Physical Health Concerns

  • Hammond Health Center offers individual and collective healthcare needs by providing comprehensive primary care medical services for students, individual and community education, prevention and health screening, and by assessing and responding to the Public Health needs of the campus community.  

  • Center for Health Promotion supports students in developing the skills and identifying the resources necessary for making healthy lifestyle choices including harm reduction for alcohol and other drug use, building resiliency, and finding balance in order to thrive during college and beyond.
