Applying as an International Student

In addition to the graduate application requirements, international applicants must submit the following documents, if applicable.

Proof of English Proficiency

All applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit official results of a test of English proficiency. Our recommended minimum scores are 80 on the TOEFL internet-based version (iBT), and 6.0 on the IELTS (International English Language Testing). Applicants who have earned a bachelors degree at a college or university where English is the language of instruction may be exempt from the English proficiency exam requirement.

Official Transcripts

All transcripts must be official (sent directly from the issuing institution’s registrar's office to the Ithaca College Office of Admission) and, if not originally in English, accompanied by an English translation.

Applicants to the following graduate programs who attended colleges or universities outside of the United States must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation report prepared by World Educational Services (

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech-Language Pathology with Teacher Certification

Applicants to other graduate programs may be asked to submit course-by-course credential evaluation from a NACES ( member agency.

Student Visa

Admitted students who have confirmed their enrollment by submitting the enrollment confirmation deposit and require a student visa (F-1) will be contacted by the Office of International Programs with information about the student visa application process, including the submission of documents (Certificate of Finances and bank statements) required to show the ability to cover the cost of attendance.
