This course explores the rich and complex relationship between food, culture, and society in the dynamic urban landscape of London. Through historical, sociological, and economic perspectives, students will critically examine how food both shapes and reflects cultural identities, social structures, and systemic inequalities in one of the world’s most diverse cities. Field trips to local markets, neighborhoods, and food banks will demonstrate how access to food is deeply entangled with race, class, and geography. (F,S,U)
